We are excited to share another MAB Bride highlight with you! We love highlighting our brides, as all of them have such unique weddings and styles. This month’s bride, Jessie, had a fun surprise for her groom during the reception that wowed every one present!
What made you decide on your venue?
We really loved the manor house and how it brought warmth and a beautiful historical setting. We also wanted a place where guests could feel at home and stay nice and cozy out of the winter weather. Belmont was perfect for us!
What was your inspiration for your wedding theme/style?
I was really inspired by a combination of romantic gardens and warm elegance. I loved the idea of being surrounded by lush greenery, warm candlelight, and gold elegant details.
What were your must-have elements for your wedding?
I love to dance so finding an amazing DJ was a must. I also really wanted the flowers and decor to create a very specific scene and vibe for the guests, which truly could not have been more perfect.
What was the best part of wedding planning?
The best part of wedding planning was getting to tap into my creative side and create an experience for my guests. I had so much fun with all the details from picking out favors, choosing dance songs, assigning tables, and all the little things in between. It really felt like I could cater the day to make it special for our friends and family.
What was the hardest part?
The hardest part was staying on budget, (Sorry Dad!!!) but it was all worth it in the end!
What helped you handle any wedding related stress?
My mom was a huge component in helping handle my stress. I was working two jobs while planning my wedding and had weeks where I was literally working 60 hours a week. She was always there to jump in and help with meetings, decision making, really whatever I needed. I could not have done it without her.
What made you decide to do a special dance and how long did it take to choreograph the routine/practice with your friends?
I’m an NFL dance captain and have been cheering for five years! All the dancers were current or former teammates. I actually choreographed the dance and sent it to everyone via video so we had never done it all together until the actual wedding!
If you can pick one, what was your favorite moment from your wedding day?
This is so hard. I really wish I could do the whole thing over again because it goes by so fast. My favorite moment was definitely seeing my husband at the end of the aisle. It was everything I could’ve ever dreamed of and more. I also loved my father-daughter dance. My dad picked the song as a surprise and we danced to a special song from my childhood. That was a moment I’ll never forget.
What is one thing you couldn’t do without at your wedding? From planning, a special feature at your wedding, or while getting ready?
I couldn’t have done without the twinkle lights over the dance floor!!! They added so much to the space and totally pulled everything together.
What made you choose MAB Artistry to be your HMU team?
Choosing MAB was one of the easiest decisions I made. I’m a professional dancer and spend a lot of time doing my own makeup and hair, so I had a very clear vision of what I wanted. As soon as I saw Nour and Esme’s work online, I knew they were the perfect choice. MAB had been recommended by my photographer and was so nice to work with. Everyone was responsive, kind, and easy to work with. It was a wonderful wonderful experience and my makeup and hair absolutely could not have been more perfect.
What advice would you give to other brides planning their weddings?
Remember that this day is about you and your partner. Don’t worry too much about what is “the norm” or what you think is expected of you. At the end of the day, if you make your wedding represent who you are, then everyone is going to have a great time. Make it authentic and soak in every moment.
